Ferdinand and Ernst Jankowitsch were twins and soloists in the Wiener Sängerknaben in the mid 50-ties. I do not have many tracks with them but they show an extraordinary skill also considering the audio quality of recordings at that time. If you have more tracks with the twins drop them in the filebox!

Oh, I have not seen the film "Almost angels"! I supose you know the Biber-Requiem under Harnoncourt, I love it! A pity that the soloists are not named...
ReplyDeleteAnd I love the voice of Peter Jelosits in the Bach-Cantatas, and the voice of Lorin Wey in the Cd with Terry, "Christmas arias"...
Here
my blog, also dedicated to an extraordinary boys choir.
I have seen the WSK twice live: In Granada and Sevilla.
I will post Almost Angels later on. WSK is number one for me, TKC is number two! and Escolana del Escorial number three.... and then there are more than two dozen others that I enjoy to listen to very much.
ReplyDeleteI go every spring to Vienna to listen to WSK perform.
I have this LP, can you tell me what it is worth??
ReplyDeleteA copy went for $25 on ebay last year.
